Inheritance Event Card – JBA

Navigating Inheritance with Confidence

Tuesday, June 23

Ripple Space in the Hurley Building

Receiving an inheritance can bring more than financial decisions, it can also come with unexpected emotions.

Join us for a Ripple Event designed to help those receiving or leaving an inheritance better understand the practical and personal side of inherited wealth.

During this educational session, Patricia Spies, CFP®, from our Johnson Bixby team and Megan deBoer, a Financial Recovery Counselor, will discuss what to do first after receiving an inheritance, how to make thoughtful, value-aligned financial decisions, tax basics, and more.

Whether you recently inherited assets, or may in the future, or want to prepare your family for a wealth transition, join us for practical guidance and clarity for your next steps.

Tuesday, June 23

 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Our Community Engagement Program

We believe in the power of building community and giving back to the nonprofits that make life better for all of us. Whether we are volunteering, sponsoring an event, or sharing our time and talents, our Community Engagement Program unites our efforts so that together, we can make a tangible difference in Clark County.

The following Philanthropic Guideposts help guide our giving:

Financial Empowerment

At Johnson Bixby and Integrated Tax Services, we are committed to helping clients make informed decisions about their finances. We’re also dedicated to extending financial education and empowerment to our entire community.

Community Enhancement

Our community is our home, and we honor the beauty that surrounds us – be it the green landscape, the thriving downtown, or the art and music that bring us joy. We invest in supporting and improving our local surroundings.

Leadership & Innovation

We invest in developing local leaders – especially our youth – and creating opportunities for diverse perspectives and innovative approaches to solve our community’s greatest challenges.

Positive Change

We act as a catalyst for change by supporting programs that are upstream in approach and strategic in design – activities that aim to solve and prevent challenges before they start and leverage other resources for greater impact.

It’s Possible

When we participate in and support our communities, it’s possible for us to leave them better than we found them. And when we work together, it’s possible to create something better than any one of us could do alone.

Directed by our guideposts, our giving falls into three main categories: Nonprofit Support & Sponsorship, Financial Empowerment, and CommUNITY Hours.

Nonprofit Support & Sponsorship

Each year, we dedicate a portion of our budget toward sponsoring and supporting local nonprofit activities that align with our Philanthropic Guideposts. Our Community Engagement Committee reviews requests twice each year:

  • January Meeting: Requests for events and activities held February through August are reviewed and decided on. (Please submit your Request Form by January 20)
  • July Meeting: Requests for events and activities held September through December are reviewed and decided on. (Please submit your Request Form by July 20)

Do you have a nonprofit event or activity you’d like us to know about? Please complete the Request Form.

Financial Empowerment

Workshops: Our Financial Planners, CPAs, Enrolled Agents, and other team members dedicate time and talent to teaching financial education across our community. We’ve worked with high school students, young adults leaping into new careers, and older adults re-entering the workforce.

Are you interested in having one of our team members teach at your organization or school? Email our Director of Community Investments & Relationships, Megan Dixon.

CommUNITY Hours

Each year, our team members receive CommUNITY hours to invest back into the community in areas that are important to them. Often, team members participate in group-supported volunteer activities where their combined time and talent make a big impact.

Partnerships

Through partnerships, we can create ripples of positive change.

Building community doesn’t happen overnight and we are actively building relationships with a number of organizations.

Here are several of our new partner organizations.
