For 2025 tax return filing, we’ve put together key information to help make the process smooth, secure, and as stress-free as possible for you. Below find what to expect, what we need from you, and helpful resources to keep things moving efficiently.

Step 1: Get Started When You Receive Your Tax Packet
Tax Packets will be uploaded to NetClient CS or mailed in late January. Your packet includes everything you need to begin—please review it carefully and use the checklist to guide your document gathering. If you haven’t received your packet by January 30, 2026, reach out and we’ll be happy to help.
Step 2: Sign Required Documents
We can’t begin work until required forms are signed and returned. If you use NetClient CS, you’ll receive a separate email with secure links to sign electronically. You can also print, sign and return the forms when you bring us your documents.
Please sign and date:
- Engagement Letter – outlines the scope, timeline, and terms of our work together. This is your agreement to engage our services.
- Consent to Disclose (if applicable) – grants us explicit permission to share your information securely when needed.
- Bank Account Verification – this is required for electronic refunds or payments; this is particularly important as the IRS has started phasing out paper checks for refunds from and payments to the IRS.
Step 3: Submit Your Documents Securely
For your security, please do not email sensitive information (such as Social Security numbers). Instead, choose one of the secure options below:
Recommended: Secure Client Portal (NetClient CS)
The fastest and most secure way to send documents. Need an invite? Email us at connect@its-taxes.com.
Other Options
- Mail: Copies only, please. We recommend a tracked service (e.g., USPS Certified Mail).
- In-Person Drop-Off: Copies may be dropped off during business hours. Our tax season business hours are:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Starting March 7, we are open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Helpful Practices for Paper Documents

- Do not staple or fold: staples, staple holes and excessive folding interfere with scanning.
- Remove envelopes and unopened mail: don’t stuff documents back into original envelopes or submit unopened mail. This increases processing time.
- Group documents: put papers and forms into logical categories such as Income (W-2s, 1099s), Deductions (1098s, receipts), and Personal Info (SSNs, IDs).
- Of course, we will take your documents however you provide them!
Best Practices for Uploads to NetClient CS
- File types: PDFs preferred (Word/Excel okay; avoid image files like JPG, PNG, TIFF)
- File size: Under 250 MB per file; do not upload in ‘zipped’ files or folders
- Browser: Use Chrome, Edge, or Firefox (please avoid Safari)
Important IRS Update: Going Paperless
The IRS is phasing out paper checks for both refunds and payments. Taxpayers will need to use direct deposit and electronic payment options.
Action required: Complete the Bank Account Verification form included in your Tax Packet or via NetClient to avoid delays and ensure refunds are deposited electronically.
Timing, Deadlines & Extensions
- Tax Day: Wednesday, April 15, 2026
- Typical turnaround: 4–6 weeks from the time we receive complete documents
To ensure we’re taking care of everyone, our firm automatically files extensions for returns not completed by March 1. Read more about our extensions in a guide to working with us.
Finishing Up
Once your return is ready, we’ll contact you and ask that you sign Form 8879 promptly so we can e-file on your behalf.
