Becky Albeke, The Difference
What is your role in the Ripple Companies?
I am a part-time sales associate in Lake Oswego. I usually work Thursday – Saturday. I come in for special projects, or if the team needs me to help cover when someone is out.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I do general housekeeping, behind the scenes sort of things to get the boutique ready to open. I restock the floor with clothing and make-up items, dress mannequins, and do social media posts. I have the pleasure of greeting our clients and letting their stylist know they are there for their appointment. When we have walk-in shoppers, I help them find clothing items and offer advice and support.
We have out-of-town clients who call in looking for a particular item. I help locate it and ship it out to them. When clients are done with their stylist appointments, I assist them in checking out.
I take care of my elderly parents who are in their 90s and this position is a fun outlet for me.
What aspect of your work makes you happiest?
I love connecting with women to help them buy clothing to make them feel confident and feel their best.
I get satisfaction in making the stylists’ days a little easier as they have a lot of responsibilities.
When are you at your best?
When I have good balance in my life, and for me that means time for art (acrylic and mixed media), spiritual reflection which includes meditation and Labyrinth walks (an ancient practice used for prayer, meditation and spiritual centering), and meaningful work that makes a difference.
